A slant route is where a receiver runs 5 yards forward then slants 45 degrees to the right or left of the field. Depeding on the specific play, the quarter-back will throw the ball to the reciever right after the slant takes place.
In this example the reciever will be running a shallow slant. Indicated by the purple receiver line.
A go route is where a receiver runs straight down the field. Ideally your faster recievers would be running this route to outrun the defense.
In this example the reciever will be running a go route. Indicated by the purple reciever line.
